08:22 AM ET 02.09 | Hosting practice in the midst of a seven-game losing streak, Paul MacLean couldn't take it anymore. Midway through a drill at practice Wednesday at Scotiabank Place, the Senators coach blew his whistle and summoned everybody to the boards for a talking to. He used lots of four-letter words to express his displeasure with the way the players were doing the drill, especially with the Senators in the throes of a seven-game losing streak. Then, MacLean repeated the drill. "Execution a lot of times is focus and concentration," said MacLean. "You practise like you play sometimes." Many experts have spewed out theories on why the Senators are falling apart. The most common belief: They're tired.

Actual reason: They're not as good as they appeared.

I don't know about up his sleeve, but I know his head maybe up somewhere

A lot of teams are "cooling off" right now. Not so sure if they can afford to do so.

I wonder what four letter words he used? Maybe he's not very eloquent, and shorter words come easier to him.....or he shortens things up, to be better understood.

The Bruins are a prime example of that. Ryan Miller shut them out last night 6-0.

tough to even call that game an off night...
Bruins seem to be on bit of the roller coaster of recent.
I am sure Chirelli has something up his sleeve

That's cause Thomas is too busy working on his political aspirations. Heard of his latest FB ramblings? Jeez Louise. Keep the puck out of the net....run for office when you retire.

Actually Rask let in the first three and then was pulled but I agree with you 100% re Timmy running his mouth. Now I guess he's on about abortion. I can't stand people who get a little fame and think their opinions are suddenly gospel.

I also don't like the type of creatures that turning over these political and religious rocks bring to the site.

I hope he's not going to stand pat because he's concerned with chemistry. The team appears to be going through the motions right now and a nice kick in the pants is what's needed.

Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Thomas let in the other 3 when he should have been giving his team a chance to come back? LOL. JK. Regardless...I am just busting his stones a bit. He is entitled to have a bad game, the both of them are entitled.

I agree with the rest of your post...100%.

I do think religion has a place on the threads. I just finished my morning service:

Please God, let us beat about 14 teams in a row............let us make the playoffs.......let us get past the first round..............maybe the second?.................sprinkle Ovie with Holy Water and allow him to score mightily again...............take two hot dogs and some french fries and feed the multitudes at Verizon Center since we can't afford the seats AND the food. We ask this in your name O Lord. Amen.

OK. Ready.

Hey Rex, some of your friends were looking for you over in MLB.

My response.......

Dear God you waited 54 yrs before you finally gave us a cup the last time. When I traveled like a faithful fan, I had to endure chants of "1940" that scarred me for life. Lord, dont let that happen again. Please dont pay attention to todays NYPost where Larry jinxed the Rag's by saying we are next to win a championship in NY. Instead, keep the boys healthy, sprinkle magic pixie dust on the PP, keep Henrik stopping everything and please please get us out of the first round this year!

Oh and one last thing. Let the wife say yes and be accepting on more than a once a month occassion.

Amen

LMAO! You win! That would be a hard hearted God to refuse that prayer!

Easy...Craig Anderson isn't a number one goalie and Alex Auld shouldn't even be in the league.

Auld has been on 8 different teams since 06. He's the Mike Keenan of NHL goalies.
