08:00 AM ET 02.10 | Being able to make "all the throws" is a prerequisite for NFL quarterbacking, which, right now may discount Peyton Manning. [Manning] is more injured than people realize, Mike Lombardi of the NFL Network told Bill Simmons on his podcast today. "He can't throw the ball," Lombardi said. "I've talked to people who've caught the ball for him. He can't throw the ball to his left. He can't throw the ball across his body, because he doesn't feel it. People that catch the ball for him say he doesn't really have velocity on the ball yet." Manning was cleared to play last week. But Lombardi says being cleared to play and being able to play are two very different things.

If he can't throw to the left, use a bunch formation to the right. Problem solved.

There's a blueprint for NFL QBs who can't throw the ball, but what about QBs who can't throw OR run the read-option? Quick, somebody call John Fox. He'll figure it out.

I hope Payton does not pull a Brett. Payton is probably more than well off financially and he is young enough to launch a new career that will not endanger his health. He has had a remarkable run and I hope he ends it gracefully.

Let's give him a month to get some strength back in his arm before we start talking about his retirement. Oh wait a minute we've been talking about his retirement since last September

I put cayenne pepper in pretty much everything I cook. Even in something mild, like Hollandaise sauce, a little bit will wake up the taste buds without seeming hot at all.

all he has to do is face the left sideline when he needs to throw ot that side of the field.

It's gotten to the point where the only person who believes he can make a comeback is PM himself. Correction: I'm sure Archie does as well.

The only thing we've heard from Peyton himself is a commercial. (Ooops, bad commercial. I can remember the ad, but not the product.)
I propose a moratorium on Peyton Manning threads until some real news comes out. Reistance is futile, and speculation is pointless.

With his reduced arm strength and lower velocity on his passes, maybe Peyton can do what Tom Brady can't...... throw the ball and catch it himself!!!!!!
