08:02 AM ET 02.10 | One would find it hard to argue with the position of Victor Cruz, who became the first Giants player to say he'd like a raise. The 25-year-old Cruz figured to be one of the first in line, given his remarkable situation. An undrafted free agent, he made $450,000 in 2011, but emerged as one of the top receivers in the NFL with 82 catches for a franchise-record 1,536 yards. ... [Cruz] is only due a salary of $490,000. He's still two more seasons away from being an unrestricted free agent, too. "I think I was paid relative to where I came in this year, and I came in as a free agent so I don't feel like I was underpaid," Cruz said on PFT Live. "After my performance this year, I feel like I deserve to be paid more money at this point."

Pay the man!

February 10, 2012  08:06 AM ET

He got paid already - 2 yrs $16 million

February 10, 2012  08:08 AM ET

He earned it, too.

February 10, 2012  08:10 AM ET

Actually I'm just goofing here. I trust the G-Men and Cruz can come to some sort of agreement here, the real question is what to do about Manningham.

Okay. Disregard my previous comment then.

He deserves it.

February 10, 2012  08:19 AM ET

He had a heck of a year, that's for sure.

February 10, 2012  08:31 AM ET

It sounds like Cruz is just being reasonable. Pay the man.

Exactly. There's nothing wrong here.

People tend to want a raise after winning a superbowl, go figure.

February 10, 2012  09:00 AM ET

Winning isn't everything, PAYING IS!!! Pay Victor and da Boys and while your at it give yourself a Raise Jerry, you deserve it! Go Blue!

Penelope Cruz gets a raise out of me.

February 10, 2012  09:09 AM ET

How many other guys do the Giants have with contracts expiring in the next year or two? This situation is one that dogs every Super Bowl Champion as players that are very good start to feel as though they were solely responsible for the teams success and want to break the bank.

February 10, 2012  09:21 AM ET

Just saw Cruz being interviewed said it was a honor to have Billy B consider him a threat that had to be stopped.

February 10, 2012  09:23 AM ET

SHOW ME THE MONEY....now comes all the extras that come with winning the Super Bowl, all the players want more money, and all the other teams want your Coaches and front office staff

Manningham will be offered some big bucks by some team. It only takes one. Depends on how much he wants, the Giants have 21 players ( almost 40% of the team ) about to become FA.
Lots of decisions to make and you cannot keep all the ones you want.
Tight End is a BIG problem right now. Both Ballard and Beckhum will go on the PUP list and miss all of next year.
The cap may actually be LOWER than it was this year. Go figure. And the Giants have little room to play with it.

The way of things. Every player figures they won because of him.
