08:04 AM ET 02.10 | So much for a Super Bowl hangover. If you thought two-time Super Bowl champion coach Tom Coughlin was going to take a week or so off and soak in the organization's Super Bowl XLVI victory against the Patriots, you really don't know anything about Coughlin. And he spells out that philosophy when talking to James Brown and Phil Simms on the latest edition of Showtime's "Inside the NFL." At one point, Simms asked about Coughlin's work schedule. "No, we're working today," Coughlin said. "We have to get our stuff all cleaned up. The playtime evaluation, we're grading all of our players. We're going to go over the defense, the offense and special teams, trying to get them all ranked and graded. We'll go from there."

Work like this, in the aftermath of winning a championship, is enjoyable and relaxing. It's a workaholic's way of celebrating.

You know Bill Belichick was watching game film on the plane home, right? You're a slacker, Coughlin.

That's what makes Champions.

Good for Coughlin. I wonder if he took an opportunity to wipe that PO'd look off his face and smile.

That's odd. Belichick doesn't strike me a horror movie fan.

I don't think the word 'downtime' is in Coughlin's vocabulary.

As a Giants fan lets all calm down...2 great playoff runs for sure but...if hes such a winner why do we miss the playoffs the last 2 years and underwhelm in the other trips? Ppl tend to overreact and generalize in today's society

Because there are 32 teams in a league that is filled with great players and great coaches in a system set up so that as many as five new teams are in the playoffs each year.

My generalization is, you're bat **** crazy

Whatever..I'e been a Giants fan for 20+ years...not just some casual message board bandwagon poster. I didnt DIScredit his accomplishments, I'm just saying dont OVERanalyze it..it was a great 2 year run much like the Marlins in MLB had when they won the WS. Doesn't make them great year in and year out...thanks for your logical assessment though
