Suspended UGA players might return

I just don't believe these type of character flaws are not known prior to their collegiate careers. One of three things is happening. The HS coaches are concealing them from the college recruiters. If the HS coaches are honest with the recruiters, then the colleges are willing to take them anyway because they are so talented. Or the colleges believe they can turn them around and improve their behaviors and character. Only the last one is acceptable and honorable IMHO.

another story about SEC greed...I am sure there will be a story or two this offseason about SEC weed

How unfortunate for Cummings but ... that kind of stuff should be anticipated when you step out on your girlfriend and go bar hopping.

As for Marshall and Sanders ... stealing cash from a teammate? Once you lose the trust of your teammates why would they want you back?

That's one of the intangibles I alluded to over on the message board thread dealing with signing day. We can talk all we want about 4.2 speed, 400 lb. bench press, 40 in. vertical leap, etc., ad nauseum. But what about a young man's character? Not so easily quantified.

Or trading tats for jerseys, having your starting QB driving a different sports car every few months and making $20,000 to $40,000 from autographed memorabilia.

If the college coaches (even SEC and B1G coaches) continue to do the right thing (e.g. dismissal from the team and ejection from the university for egregious infractions), then we will continue to have CFB.

Now, if it turns out to be "Go to the JUCO, kid. I've got commitments that I want and can use the roster room. You do well at the JUCO, and I've got a need for [your position] in the next couple of years. Keep your nose clean, and we can bring you back in," then, I'll bathe in the cynicism and rinse myself clean of any vestiges of innocent fandom.
