Driver willing to take pay cut for Packers

The man is not stupid. His options are not that many and nobody is shelling out $5 million for him next year.

It's refreshing to hear a player willing to take a pay cut instead throwing out ultimatums to his team to bargain for more money.

He sounds like Hines Ward

I hate it when these guys stay around for the records. Jerry Rice stayed around a few more years to pad his numbers and basically forced other receivers to do the same. Driver and Ward both had terrible years, they should understand that and call in a career but no they refuse to leave. How sad. Especially when there are young men willing and ready to step in and help their teams.
I would be shocked if the Pack keeps Driver. They have two studs who are very good and bided their time last year and its their turn now.

Let me refresh you:
In May of 2009 this same Donald Driver was not happy with his contract and demanded it be reworked.
He skipped all team work outs. Seeking additional contract terms was an annual tradition for Driver, had his deal reworked before the 2006 and 2007 seasons.
The ONLY reason he is willing to take a cut is because his only choice with the Packers is take a cut or be cut.

His past dealings with the Packers will now come back to bite him in the a##. They remember the years he did not honor his contract , had the leverage, demanded more and got it.
And that is why they will tell him. No thank you.

Let him walk and sign the guy in thenext thread.

huh? what record are they setting?
these guys at their ends stay around for 2 reasons
1- they pissed their $ away and need more
2- they WANT TO PLAY

If they want to hang on, it isn't their job to worry "there are young men willing and ready to step in and help their teams"
it is managements job to say no thank you

If you cannot put up bigger numbers than he did this year with A. Rodgers throwing you the ball in that Packers offense, then you are just not that effective anymore.
