07:59 AM ET 02.13 | A Canadian Football League star might be taking his talents to Miami. [The Dolphins] are reportedly close to finalizing a deal with CFL standout Jerome Messam, whose signing would add depth in the team's thin backfield. According to the Edmonton Journal, Messam, who was awarded the CFL's Most Outstanding Canadian Player honor after rushing for 1,057 yards and scoring six touchdowns in 18 games during the 2011 season, plans to leave the Edmonton Eskimos to sign with the Dolphins. However, a deal has not been finalized and Messam, who will likely receive a contract that pays him $390,000 in 2012 if he makes the 53-man roster, must pass a physical.

Edmonton Eskimos. Now, there's a team name that we can use to signify banishment to the hinterlands for players that nobody in the NFL wants.

T.O. the Eskimo. Plaxico Eskimo. Nice alliterative sound, eh?

Dude's coming off knee surgery and he hits the FanNation Lottery? WTF?
Heck, even Reggie Bush is chuckling. Jerome-who?

If they want to go that route there is an aging prima donna that will be working indoors just up the road from me.

The Fish found a stud out of the CFL a few years ago in Cameron Wake and probably feel secure in signing another player from up north.

That is not alliteration. That is rhyming (and barely). So much for your poor attempt at humor.

Aw, give the guy some poetic license. Hey, how about that? A Giants fan coming to the defense of a Patriots fan. A sure sign the apocalypse is near.
