08:07 AM ET 02.13 | Agent Zero remains an intriguing prospect, especially in one of the nation's biggest media markets. In a search to find some scoring for their floundering offense, Los Angeles Lakers officials attended a private workout for guard Gilbert Arenas on Sunday in Southern California, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. Two sources familiar with the workout said Arenas moved well and made a positive impression, but there was no sense of how quickly -- if at all -- the Lakers would pursue signing him to a free-agent contract. ... The Lakers' coaching staff didn't attend the workout, but coach Mike Brown and star Kobe Bryant have been proponents of giving Arenas a chance to help the team.

Again, any PG would be an upgrade for now for the Lakers. If you saw the Lakers Raptors game on Sunday, the Lakers PG could not even stop Calderon, Kobe has to guard Calderon at the end of the game.

Heat should go after him since Lakers haven't signed him but let everyone know he's playing well again. The Heat should cut Harris til next year since he's not getting much playing time anyway.

The Lakers really need to get this guy on board. Another head case, gun toting moron who thinks it all begins and ends with him.
Yeah just the kind of guy to take the Lakers floundering ship and steer it right into the rocks.
Some check and see what Brown and Kobe are drinking.

Yep, Arenas is a head case but averaging 21ppg is something the Lakers need right now on that weak bench. At $1.2m give the dude a shot and if he becomes trouble kick him out because he is cheap anyway.
Still LA needs to go after a pg like Brooks or Sessions.

I think we've seen what Arenas has left in the tank. He could be a help off the bench but the Lakers need a floor general to direct their offense....and Gilbert ain't it.

I don't know if we can say that Arenas isn't that guy anymore. He definitely wasn't as explosive last year with the Magic, but now, he is totally recovered from that knee surgery plus he got that Kobe/ARod surgery in from the German doctor. We see how it has rejuvenated Kobe. Let's see what it can do for Arenas.
