08:08 AM ET 02.13 | Mark Jackson wanted to get something on the record, choosing to clear the air Sunday about how Jeremy Lin was cut by Golden State. It was Dec. 9, the first day of training camp, and Lin was taken off the court with the Warriors putting together an offer for restricted free-agent center DeAndre Jordan. Jackson said that when he found out, he left practice to find Lin and thank him for his hard work with the franchise. "That's the extent of our relationship," Jackson said [Sunday]. ... "I got a text message from Spike Lee (on Saturday) morning, thanking me, like I had something to do with it. I never saw him do a layup, so people can stop asking me. He never practiced for us, so leave me out of it."

The warriors do not need more guards anyway

Jackson is the coach which means he has some say to this Linsanity. He was hired before the finals last year and he knows who was on the roster.

Its different knowing who's on your roster and not ever seeing them perform in the NBA. Remember, Lin is thriving with D'Antoni, who has a guard led offense. Most other coaches run their offense through their bigs, so it may have been hard to see how good Lin was. Even Houston, who run their offense through their bigs couldn't see the talent.

I love Lin, he is the man and deserves to start. He has true skills and will not fall off. This does bring to light one of the things that really irks me about D'Antoni. He never utilizes his bench! All of the sudden Toney Douglas can't crack the rotation? He was a starter, now he can't even get any burn? I'm not Douglas' biggest fan or anything, but why does D'Antoni choose to keep capable NBA players buried on the bench. He did it in Phoenix with Jalen Rose, etc. Last year we had Anthony Randolph, he played in maybe two or three games and D'Antoni never gave him a chance to show what he could do (He put up 30 and 20 for Minnesota as soon as he got there). Then we traded him for Corey Brewer who was subsequently cut because D'Antoni had no intentions on playing him. If it wasn't for injuries, I'm sure guys like Novak and Walker would be limited to 2 or 3 minutes per game. I hope that when Melo and Stat come back he utilizes his bench and this isn't the last we hear of Novak and Walker because I haven't seen a Jerome Jordan or Toney Douglas sighting in weeks.

when are people going to relize that tv analayst do not make good coaches. look at Van Gundy, he talks the wrong things all the time, he says one thing and its the oppisite that happens, Guess thats why no one wants him as a coach also, he doesn't know what he is talking about also
