08:18 AM ET 02.13 | MLB's penthouse is getting a little more crowded these days. [The Dodgers'] $40-million-a-year local TV rights expire after the 2013 season, and the expectation is that the next deal will exceed $200 million annually. ... So in just a matter of months, the Dodgers likely are to vault into the superpower realm -- a class of teams that lurk as arguably the most worrisome problem for the sport going forward. At the beginning of this century, there was just one superpower. Then the Red Sox joined the Yankees. The Phillies were next to the party. Now, fueled by local TV dollars, the Angels and Rangers have separated from the pack. The Dodgers can be next.

You can expect anything you want, but the reality is that the networks can only make money if advertisers are willing to pony up the money for viewership; seriously, who's watching the Dodgers in LA? More Americans watch Real Housewives or Dancing with the Stars than bleed Dodger blue.

Given the fact that they operate in the same market and enjoy at least as much popularity (probably much more nationally) than the Angels, I think the recent TV contract Moreno got is a reasonable litmus test for what the Dodgers could get.
Three billion dollars over twenty years. That's $150m per year, so I wouldn't think $200m per for the Dodgers is too much of a stretch.

As someone who lives in LA, I'll tell you...everyone. Despite what folks outside of this area think, the INSTANT the Dodgers become relevant again, they will leave the Angels in the dust. Angelenos are just waiting for a reason to love their Dodgers again. Oh, and relative to your earlier post about KARMA, this dbag McCourt is someone who needs to get bit by karma...

The "parking lot" is where the new stadium will be built for the new or existing NFL team.
