08:07 AM ET 02.14 | There are, of course, many moving parts to Peyton Manning's future, but speculation heated up again Monday. Someone I know who is close friends with the Manning family says Peyton is definitely interested in possibly coming to the Texans. Peyton will be released by the Colts early next month and will be a free agent. The person who knows the Mannings says Peyton wants to play on a team that has a chance of going to a Super Bowl, and the Texans fit that description. Another big plus is that the Texans are in the Colts division. Manning not only knows the division, but I'm told the relationship between him and Colts owner Robert Irsay now is strictly business.

I can't imagine Peyton playing in any other uniform than Indy's. But, if that does have to happen, I hope he kicks their **** every time he plays them.

A little further north buddy.

Matt Schaub just heard the bus engine start.

I can see this... A dome, plus he can stick it to Irsay twice a year.

Said the same thing about Montana. Eh, worked out pretty good.

No. No. And again, NO!

Solid team in Houston, too. The only question is Schaub. Is Peyton enough of a potential upgrade to make it worth the gamble?

Schaub is a heckuva QB and Peyton's health is anything but certain. If I'm the Texans, I pass.

"Someone I know...",

"definitely, possibly interested..."

Yikes. We have too many stories like this one coming to us in the next few months.

That bus would have Matt Leinart's name on it.

If he can even play. Really, why would the Texans bring in a big question mark who at best will have another 2 years to play? Schaub would ask to be traded if they did that, and then they'd be stuck.

Just when they've finally made the playoffs, they're going to throw the whole franchise under the bus? Maybe Peyton would like to play for them, but I don't see it as being something Houston should do.

They were a game away from the AFC Championship game last season. Add a Peyton Manning, and that team could finally be recognized as "legitimate".

The daily Manning will fit in _______ story. Only 31 teams, some will not be interested, they already did a few, the interns will run out of teams sooner or later

They went all the way down the QB depth chart and still got that far. Seems like their QB position is already in good shape. Why take a huge risk to potentially strengthen what's already strong?

Yeah, but they've still got to cycle through all the TV networks, including Versus and Sci-Fi, and after that every corporation that ever paid anyone to endorse a product. I'd imagine they'll get to Vagasil by the Hall of Fame game.

thanks for the 'heads up' DD.

If Peyton wants to go play for a team that could go to the Super Bowl, then that should officially kill the Redskins talk. Another darkhorse should be San Francisco. Imagine Manning running the show there with that defense on the other side.

I'm just waiting in suspense to see what team T&R has Manning going to tomorrow.
