How the Knicks can keep (or lose) Lin

08:09 AM ET 02.15 | Beyond the question of whether Jeremy Lin can keep this up is whether the Knicks can keep him around. Yes, if Lin continues to perform at anything close to the level he's displayed so far, New York will have the means and the inclination to retain him for next year -- and most likely, beyond. Here's the deal: By virtue of the Golden State Warriors signing Lin to a two-year contract before waiving him in December, Lin becomes a restricted free agent after this season. Under typical circumstances, Lin would be eligible to receive a qualifying offer from the Knicks worth approximately $1.1 million. These, obviously, are not typical circumstances. ... In Lin's case, the maximum qualifying offer he could get under these new rules would be about $2.7 million.

Not if NY management is dumb enough not to overpay the guy. They need to offer him more than the max if they have to! Dumbtonie just found his savior just like when he got Nash from the Mavs. I hope Dumbtonie understands that defense is also a big part of having a great team. If only he can get defense as part of his system!

Heck.. if he leads us to win the next three championships we need to change the team's name to New York Lins.... yes some players have led teams to back to back to back championships but none of those guys could have done it in NY.. it's never been done. New York Lins! As for Mayweather someone needs to blow his brains out

Lol, are you high? Next three championships? Come on Lost, and that moron Mayweather needs to quit being a damn puss and fight manny.

February 15, 2012  09:15 AM ET

Yeah... he's been phenomenal...

...for 6 entire games.

Seriously people. Lets hold off on the statue and renaming the entire NBA after him. No one likes a Cinderella story more than I do... but this "Linsanity" really is a bit insane.
