08:11 AM ET 02.15 | Bulls fans aren't alone in wondering how much we should be seeing of Derrick Rose, with his sore back and turf toe, these days. Bulls chairman Jerry Reinsdorf admits to watching Rose play and flashing back to the times he urged former coach Phil Jackson to rest Michael Jordan. "I'm one of those people who watches and thinks, 'Why don't you get him out of the game?' " Reinsdorf said of Rose. "When Michael was still in the game and he would be in at the end of big wins, I'd say, 'Phil, why don't you take him out?' And Phil would say, 'When I was with the Knicks, an opponent once scored 23 straight points against us at the end of a game to win.'"

I would like to see them rest him more too, this offseason is gonna be about who is the healthiest, not the most talented.

I agree, Chitown...
Gotta get to April healthy and functioning. The bad teams are bad. The legitimate teams just need to be ready.

As a Knicks fan I am very happy MRI didn't show any structural damage. It means his back issue is mysterious and he'll spend more time seeing special doctors than actually playing. It's all good with me. Simply put if the back is hurting and there's nothing wrong with the back then it's gotta be the legs or something more serious like a nerve or brain damage. I don't wish that on him but I hope he stays off the court longer...

He said yesterday that the specialist told him it is more than likely the turf toe injury caused him to adjust how he plants and pushes off and that more than likely caused his back issues. He was told once the turf toe is healed his back will follow. Rose said if I can play through the pain he will play. This kid needs to sit through the allstar break and try playing after the break. And by the way Lost...perhaps Linsanity needs to rest up for the playoffs and take a few weeks off also!

His legs are numb by now. D'Antoni plays him too many minutes.... I hope Bibby and Shump can learn a thing a two from the kid and play like him so he can get some rest.

This injury is worse than he is letting on... No allstar game is the least of his worries. The back issue is no joke just ask Baron Davis...

Keeping him in now could lead to a serious or permanent injury. Better to let him rest.

Shump played out of position when he was attempting to run the pt. he just needs to learn how to knock down shots and make his freakin lay ups! Bibby is a non-mF'n factor. Lin was the Knicks last resort he saved the team and D"Antoni's job!

Playing too many minutes? Heck he should be well rested...its not like he played much ball the last couple seasons riding the pine. Im sure the D-League wasnt much comp for him...let the kid play, thats what young guys do.

Sit him. The season has been hard for a lot of players already. I would not want to hear excuses come playoffs

The East has what 7 teams with winning records? All that matters for the Bulls is to be healthy come playoff time. That's it. The Bulls will win enough regular season games to make them a top 2 or 3 seed regardless. Regular season games are well... regular, and a few losses means little come playoff time... but health means plenty in the playoffs.
