Stern, NBA made a mess of New Orleans

08:07 AM ET 02.16 | On the upside, New Orleans has won two consecutive games, but the Hornets are still 6-23. When it comes to running franchises, David Stern is doing a great impersonation of Ted Stepien. Stepien owned the Cleveland Cavaliers in the early 1980s and spent most of his time firing coaches, overpaying mediocre players and trading away so many draft picks that the NBA instituted the "Ted Stepien Rule," which now prevents teams from trading first-round picks in consecutive years. Stepien's mismanagement of the Cavaliers had to be fixed by the NBA. But the NBA -- led by Stern -- owns the mess that has become the New Orleans Hornets. So who fixes them? The NBA has mismanaged the Hornets to a state of embarrassment.

Well if they would just sell the team and let the owner decide if he what's to keep the team there or move it somewhere else then that team could start to nice forward....

but thank you stern for storing Gordon for the season for the Mavs...

Stern is a jackass. They didn't extend Gordon and Kaman is as good as gone.7 teams(celtics, nuggets, cavs, nets, wolves, jazz, raptors) will have enough cap space to snatch him from Nawlins.Stern you really messed up you fool, worst sports commissioner award goes to you, you idiot!

Exactly! The "claim" was that NO wasn't getting enough in return but with Scola and Kev Martin that alone would have been better than Kaman, Gordon who only played 5 games and whatever other scraps they received.....sounds like old Stern was blowin smoke

and Lamar Odom and 1st rounder

This is all set up for the Hornets to get the top pick, and watch, Minnesota's pick will somehow miraculously end up top-5 as well. Makes the team more attractive to potential buyers. If he still runs the team come this year's draft, the Hornets are in a world of trouble. He's already proven that he can't make good "basketball decisions".

And Dragic.

New Orleans is a mess but It has more to do with location than anything else. The franchise didn't work when the Jazz were there and it hasn't worked this time. New Orleans is a great town but just not one to support sports franchises.

Don't worry, he'll find a way to make sure they get top picks. Or he'll force some kind of trade to make the team more attractive before he sells them. There's a method behind Darth Sterns madness. And it's will result in alot of money.
