Where Osweiler might fit

08:06 AM ET 02.17 | At 6-foot-8, quarterback Brock Osweiler is bound to stand out at the NFL Combine -- now it's up to him to make a good impression. The guy has some talent and can sling the football. However, much like Ryan Mallett last season, he's going to need to play in an offense where he can throw the football down the field and isn't going to be forced to make many quick throws underneath, where he struggles with timing, footwork and ball placement. If everything falls into place for Osweiler, meaning he develops as a quarterback mentally, has time to work at his trade and falls into a perfect fit for him physically ( Steelers, Patriots, Raiders) he does have the talent to eventually fight for a starting job in the NFL.

And how is he a fit for the Pats who already have a backup and a quarterback-of-the-future on the roster, in addition to a starter who is, well, pretty good himself?
If this guy is only going to work on a team that can give him 15 seconds to unload the ball on every play, he's going to find that guys who can't do a quick read under pressure don't last long in the NFL.

Worked for JaMarcus Russell, right? Look at all the money he took from Al's pocket before they decided he was a fraud.

This guy doesnt sound like a good fit for anybody....if he needs time to throw the ball, then the Steelers definitely AREN'T.... ;)

At 6 foot 8, he's not going to fit in a coach seat very well.

Dan accidentally took some of Marks "vitamin" pills one day, put on fifty pounds and when he took the snap from center he squeezed the football so hard it would explode.
so, he got cut. But not before he finished his short career ( first round pick , FYI, with TD-INT 2-6 Yards 745 QB Rating 52.3
"Dan McGwire is currently the president of a vitamin water company in Reno, Nevada."

Exactly. Plus, they already have a developmental QB in Mallet.

Not to mention they just drafted Ryan Mallett last year and have a solid backup in Brian Hoyer. No, the Patriots aren't an option. Philadelphia on the other hand could be a good fit. Vick isn't young and a big hit away from unemployment and Mike Kafka couldn't beat out the immortal Vince Young to be the #2.

Steelers, Patriots, Raiders.... I get a kick out of sports writers sometimes. Steelers got Big Ben who isn't going anywhere for a very long time (unless he returns to his rapey ways I guess... I jest), the Patriots I already said last post not a chance and the Raiders, I know it's a new regime there but didn't they just spend a 2nd rounder in this draft for Terrelle Pryor to develop? Osweiler will probably go 2nd or 3rd round... not one of the teams mentioned is even going to look at this kid there. How about some teams that really might be looking for a QB then, there is no shortage.

What are they smoking out there, one year of full time College Ball 26 TD 13Int 28 Sacks, what Sacks tell me is that he's at least a 2 Year Project, to get him to play backup. I don't think he's fast afoot!!!

If his feet are as slow as they say he would be a third emergency QB at best and a fifth rounder.
