08:36 AM ET 02.18 | LeBron James came to Cleveland with an unmistakable mission this week, the beginning of a campaign to soften the fans and ownership on his desire to return to the Cavaliers in 2014. Free agency is forever on his mind, and James is determined to make his hometown want him as much he wants it again. This was no accident, no misspeaking, nothing out of context. Before mentioning Thursday his openness to playing in Cleveland again, James months ago had an emissary or two carry that message to the Cavaliers' front office, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. His camp wanted the message delivered to owner Dan Gilbert, sources said, but so far, the response has been silence.

If he "wanted it" he wouldn't have left.

How stupid does he think people are?

Nobody cares.

Especially Cleveland fans!

The only reason he said these comments was because Jeremy Lin was getting all the attention and we all know that LeBron is the only person who should be talked about!

Man this guy loves attention. That being said he is having a fantastic year. I don't see how he is not MVP this season... But Jordan only won regular season MVP five times so anything can happen.

That is one ugly mug shot of him

You know this might be the most truthful comment I read all day. In my opinion James just wants all the attention.

Yup...

I don't know who else would be MVP...

Why would he want to go back to Cleveland? Is that suppose to massage his guilty conscience?

Yet another reason to believe Miami wont get a ring with LeBron on the roster. Even if it is just talk to get himself attention, he's playing the Miami fans. LeBron's now given them ammunition to hate on him if they fall short in the postseason again and he can parlay the hate he manufactured into a justification for making an exit from South Beach.

Miami fans, you get what you get.
