"By no means would I ever think our season was over or that I've given up on anybody," Weber said. "In fact, it's the other way."

If you don't want such heresy, do away with conference tournaments.

They can still have the conf. tourney, just quit giving the Tourney Champion the auto-bid. Make the regular season count for something other than seeding in the conf. tourney.

On the USCw T&R thread the other day, the piece said USCw was 1-12 in conf. play, yet they still play in the conf. tourney. This bottom dweller could end up in the NCAA tourney. A BIG stretch, but as long as it's possible, it can happen.

100% agree. I'd personally do away with the conference tourneys, but that won't happen because of $$$$$. At the very least though, I'd give the automatic bid to the regular season champ.
