Auburn seeking a system ... and a QB to run it

08:20 AM ET 02.20 | Auburn offensive coordinator Scott Loeffler has a lot of catching up to do, so much so that he is reportedly still trying to determine what kind of passing game he'll employ. Loeffler is working toward his first spring practice with an open mind, so much so he's not sure who the starting quarterback is now or even if he'll know when spring practice is done. He said he runs elements of the West Coast offense but, over the years, those lines have been blurred. ... Loeffler said he'll first look at Auburn's offensive line and the quarterbacks before determining his offense. Clint Moseley, who took over the starting quarterback job at midseason last year, is back. He'll be competing with Kiehl Frazier and newcomer Zeke Pike.

bad economy. can drop their purchase price and still pick someone up.

True....but I think Aubie invested in oil...they will be alright. Oh, wait, it was BP they invested in...never mind

He should go sit by the Toomer's Corner trees and meditate. Pick up the vibes of Shug Jordan, Pat Sullivan and Terry Beasly. Longtime Aubie fans will know the names.

Yep it's a good idea to check your o-line before you decide what offense to run.

True dat. If the running back has to call for a fair catch on a pitch sweep the problem is not in the backfield.

And it's mighty nice of the FN intern to post a pic of Gus Malzahn with the thread about Scott Loeffler.

New Alert: HE LEFT ALREADY! Pay attention please.

The problem is they need to get young QBs and develop them, not go for the rent-a-QB one-and-done idea. Yes, it worked with Cam. Last year, they spent their energies trying to recruit Russell Wilson once it became known he was leaving NC State, and left them with nothing.

Again, it worked with Cam, but that seems to be more the exception than the rule, and can blow up in your face (c/r Masoli at Ole Miss).
