08:26 AM ET 02.20 | Arsenal has given manager Arsene Wenger its unequivocal backing and will give the beleaguered Frenchman $87 million to rebuild his squad. Majority shareholder Stan Kroenke and the Gunners board remain 100 percent behind the Frenchman despite a seventh consecutive season without a trophy. Kroenke is flying over to reaffirm his support for Wenger, who he will join at Thursday's board meeting.

Sorry, Hudson. How's life after FA cup? You know, 'cause Bolton are still alive. We will be the Birmingham of this year...

If the rumor is to believed losing in the FAC has loosened the purse by 87 mil.

DC United and Events DC renewed the lease at RFK for 2 years... more favorable terms overall, incentives to stay in the district, and a renewed commitment to serious new stadium discussions *with* Events DC involved... so the district likely won't be cut out, giving away a revenue source.

I thought another sticking point besides the bad lease was that RFK was a dump.

RFK is a dump... it costs a small fortune to maintain it to the bare minimum of safety standards. It's sight lines, since it's a multi-purpose stadium built with baseball at the front of its mind, all point towards the pitchers mound... the supporters side also happens to be the huge seating section that's on train tracks, to convert for different sports. It's built out of steel... the original steel. People have literally fallen thru it. The upper-deck is hardy ever used, and not blocked off when it isn't needed... you can get seats there at any time... but it isn't maintained, like, at all. There's trees growing thru the cracks in the concrete. There's places where chunks of concrete have literally given way and fallen to the ground.

....all that said, everyone loves RFK. It's hallowed ground in Washington sports history.

I don't like that new site. Just kind of clunky and unsightly. But I'm off today so very limited comments. Up Messi! Wenger should splash on Thiago Silva.

I agree. I looked at it lat night and was not impressed. FN has it's downfalls but at least it's clean and easy to use.

Sagna--- Koscienly---Silva--- Vermaelen Looks pretty good to me.

87mil. to buy new players and all Wenger willl do is buy young talent instead of talent with experience

That's my fear about Crew Stadium... since it was the first SSS people will not want to change. It is a nice stadium and has served it's purpose but it's time for a new place.
