Expect more draft wheeling and dealing

08:01 AM ET 02.22 | Though a recent poll of GMs finds Robert Griffin III a clear second choice to Andrew Luck, RG3 rates high on many draft boards. Presuming [Luck] goes first, and Griffin creates a market for himself, the St. Louis Rams will be able to auction the second pick for a sizeable ransom. The club ascending into St. Louis' No. 2 slot will assume the incumbent franchise-shaking impact of selecting a quarterback that high, and surrender significant draft capital in the process. But for the first time in a long time, such a move won't be accompanied with a financial swing-for-the-fences. And because of that, there may be more deals within the top five picks beyond just that obvious one. Maybe a few more.

Cost certainty is good business. Getting yourself a franchise QB is too.

Makes sense not having to gamble a fortune on an unknown talent.

Not likely....when we fall short on the $$ thrown at Mario Williams -I'm hoping if Courtney Upshaw starts falling we move up- reminds me a bit of Willie McGinest

The new CBA rookie pay scale works both ways. It is not that expensive to keep that pick either and take the first guy you really want.

Whacking each other with cudgels is more line with their level of evolutionary development.

We've got a thread saying a team will either trade up, trade down, or stay where they are, and now it's another draft thread saying there'll be teams moving around on draft day.

Glad I stopped in for this keen draft analysis. I'm learning so much!

RGIII is a better talent-wise than Luck. I'd draft him ahead of Luck. However, Luck will be No. 1.
