08:00 AM ET 02.23 | Mike Wallace admits he may not be with the Steelers next season, which begged the question of where he might wind up. Most would agree that the biggest offseason need for San Francisco is the wide receiver position. One catch by receivers in the NFC Championship didn't get it done. ... Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace -- a restricted free agent -- spoke on Sirius XM Radio Tuesday and discussed potential destinations. When asked if he would consider playing for San Francisco or New England specifically, Wallace had this to say: "Most definitely those are two teams that are playoff caliber teams, Super Bowl caliber teams. I think that the right person or the right piece for those guys could put them over the top."

He'd love to see single coverage.

If the Skins can find a QB that can throw that far down the field, he would be a nice addition.

NE would be scary again with him as a deep threat.
I'm still not convinced that A. Smith can do the same in SF... last season notwithstanding...

Between him, Brady, and Gronkowski, you could win a FF league easily with them on your team.

Hell - the bye week wouldn't even matter.
I'd just take the loss and tell everyone "See you in the playoffs, fools!"

It's beautiful up here in New England in the fall, Mike. Really. You'd love it. And all those other guys to take the pressure off you - Welker, Hernandez, Gronkowski.
What's SF got to offer? Rain and drizzle all the time? Leftover hippies from the Summer of Love? Earthquakes?
Nah, you want New England, right?

Actually if you read the whole interview what he wants is to remain a Steeler just accepts the reality that it might not work out that way

Some guys like stabiity. Being a Steeler isn't a bad thing at all. But, if "it might not work out that way" means his agent is going for the biggest paycheck, then he won't be lining up for New England, either.
If he settles for a fair salary and a chance to play for a ring, I'll think more of him, regardless of which uniform he's got on.

A FN member's dream would be no double posts. Even if all of mine are worth reading twice.

the bungles are interested also, 60M under the cap, they could make him an offer the Steelers couldn't match, NE with 2 first round picks would probably give one up gladly for him, It doesn't look good for him staying in Pittsburgh...

Obviously he is looking for the big payday now that he only has 1 year left on his rookie contract

I agree. Chicago needs a big, top-tier WR. They've needed one for a looong time.
Someone like Wallace would be on both Lovie's and Phil Emery's radar, but but the $$$$ will be the issue for the Bears. I'm really looking forward to seeing how Emery (the Bears new GM) handles free agency and the draft.
