Inge isn't helping his cause

08:13 AM ET 02.23 | Early is the new "on time" in spring training camps across Florida and Arizona. The pitchers have thrown once or twice by now. The hitters have gotten in several days of work by now. Then there's the case of Brandon Inge -- still not on the premises at Joker Marchant Stadium by the time the players were filing out on Wednesday. Inge has become the exception to all the early work the Tigers have been doing. By not being here. ... Not the best of decisions. Because of his situation -- and the fact he's asked to switch from third to second because Cabrera is moving to third -- you would have thought Inge would be here. If he is, he's been posing as an empty locker.

He was worried that Prince and Miggy would eat him.

How can a guy who is a lifetime 2:30 hitter get so many headlines. He hit 1:90 last year and now he gets indignant because he's been replaced by a 3:30 hitter who averages 25 to 30 home runs a year! Go home and pout then look in the mirror!!!!

I think it's Inge's movie star good looks.

I seriously cannot wait to watch Fielder and Cabrera at the corners. This is going to be hysterical!

The Tiger pitchers better be working on fielding bunts all spring...like those two are going to put their sandwiches down and charge the lines.

I cant wait to see them batting.. That will be my fun part! I know the defence will be less- but Cabby has lost an estimated 30-40lbs, he isnt gonna be the best but he will be more tolerible than a guy with bad knees, that bats .198, and doesnt have the range or youth he used to either. I will take Miggy and Fielder at the corners any day over keeping inge in the lineup. The man has been a rally killer since the final out of game 5 of the 2006 World Series...

Honestly- I would like to see the two of them batting in Cellular... That band box will be humorous...

He sees his days in Detroit are numbered.

I didn't realize a batter could have a TIME for a batting average...............you learn something new every day on these threads.......

inge should use the factor surprise, if he really would like to be in every day in the lineup, then he needs to show that he its serius about being in the second base!!!!

I don't care for Inge, but this article is terrible. He's not late reporting to camp yet so who cares if he's not there. Apparently he put on close to 20 lbs of muscle this offseason working with a trainer that was the UofM football strength coach so it sounds like he put in alot of work this offseason. I think they will keep him around because I don't think the Cabrera at 3rd experiment will work and they're paying Inge $5.5 mill so not sure they want to just DFA him.

Regarding Cabrera I had read 20-25 lbs lost and he's down to about 260 and expecting to lose another 10. Even if he does weigh 250, I think he'll still be tooo big to handle 3rd at an acceptable level. Remember back in 2008 his first season in Detroit, he was about 250 then and he made something like 5 E's in 13 games, YIKES! I don't see why it would be any different this season.
