08:44 AM ET 02.25 | Bears GM Phil Emery visited with representatives of Bears players who are set to become free agents, according to sources, and also got together with Todd France, who doesn't have any current players on the Bears roster but does represent a pair of free-agent wide receivers in Dwayne Bowe and Eddie Royal.

Time to reach up for some quality O-linemen. Other than Carimi and Williams, they haven't taken an O-lineman before round 7 in 4 years. Duh.

Cutler had shown how effective he could be when Earl Bennett was producing. The Bears went to the trouble of getting Cutler but never provided him with any receivers. Brilliant.

Chicago has the cap room and Jerry Angelo is a not-too-distant memory. Here's hoping Ted Phillips isn't blowing smoke when he says Chicago needs to keep up with Detroit and Green Bay.
