08:46 AM ET 02.26 | Another day, another round of plaudits for Yu Darvish. On Saturday, the Rangers' new $107 million Japanese import threw to hitters for the second time this spring, and afterward the raves kept rolling in. In a 22-pitch batting practice session, Darvish showed off command of both sides of the plate against right-handed-hitting Mike Olt and lefty Jake Skole. "I've never seen a pitcher make the ball move like that," said Olt, who did put three of the 10 pitches he saw in play. "Most pitchers I've seen in college or the minors could make the ball move really well one way, but not to both sides of the plate." Skole, the Rangers' top pick in 2010, called the movement "crazy." He did not make contact in any of his six swings.
