08:16 AM ET 02.27 | To what extent did the weekend clear up the picture of a possible trade for the Rams' No. 2 pick? The price of the trade would exceed the traditional draft value trade chart that was started by former Cowboys coach Jimmy Johnson in the 1990s. The No. 2 pick in the first round has a value of 2,600. The No. 4 pick, currently owned by the Cleveland Browns, is 1,800. The Redskins' No. 6 pick has a value of 1,600. In order to put a trade together under those terms, the Browns would have to offer a draft value of 800, which equates to the 21st pick in the first round. The Redskins would have to offer 1,000, which would be an additional first-rounder and a third-rounder.

First of all, the point value system is stupid.
That being said, the Skins somehow need to pull off this deal. I don't know how they do it.

And I would have no problem giving up #1 this year and #1 next. Teams overvalue picks sometimes too much. When you have a stud, you go get him.

Local rumors (could be a smokescreen) said we were willing to give up 1st, 2nd, 3rd round picks this year and Next year's 1st.

Yeah...I think you can throw that out the window. It will be an all out bidding war.

With the new rookie salary cap rules, the entire point system needs to be recalibrated. The early first-round picks are now worth more relative to later picks.
Anybody who made it through Ding-Dong School with Miss Francis can do that math.
