08:29 AM ET 02.27 | A little more than five years removed from winning a Cy Young Award, Jake Peavy enters the 2012 season surrounded by more questions than answers. It hasn't been easy -- for Peavy or the White Sox. Not by a long shot. "Obviously it hasn't been any fun for me," Peavy said in an interview with Comcast SportsNet. "It's been painful, both physically and emotionally just not being able to be who you know you have been in the past, and who you were traded for. There was no lack of effort. It just wasn't meant to be." ... His shoulder is finally healthy, but there's still some mystery. How healthy is it? Neither Jake nor his doctors truly have the answer. "I just don't know. I just don't know what to tell you," Peavy said.

Transitional year perhaps?

I was being facetious. I'd say it's more of a 'totally awful please end' year.

It may be bad, but it won't be Detroit 2003 bad. So take some consolation in that.

I'd just like to see Dunn hit some HRs. The baseball gods should give Sox fans that at least.

I don't think one bad season means he is done.

I agree - but he better produce this year - that's for sure.

Of course. If he doesn't hit 25-30 HR this year in that park and have at least 80 RBI, I'd say stick a fork in this guy.

He is only 32.

I hear Maglio is available to shore-up the middle of the lineup, if Dunn can't produce ;)

Supposedly your boy Theo has been looking to give Ordonez a ten year, $100 million contract to hit 4th for the Cubs.

I see where 'ol Tommy Boy Rickets has nixed playing at the Cell; makes you wonder when or if Wrigley will be getting a touch up anytime soon ... I sure hope there won't be anymore falling concrete mishaps :O

That's too bad. The Bridgeport community, which I am a part of, was looking forward to welcoming Cubs fans.
