08:36 AM ET 02.27 | UConn sure proved 11 months ago that it's never too late to get things figured out, something Huskies fans can hope is happening again. Though only two games remain in UConn's regular season, it's possible the Huskies have figured something out in just a nick of time. "It shows us that we have the heart," Roscoe Smith said after UConn's 71-69 loss to Syracuse. ... So for all the bumps they've experienced, the road to the NCAA Tournament remains open. The Huskies could get coach Jim Calhoun back from his back surgery, if all goes well, as early as next Saturday. Calhoun will be in New York for his surgical procedure Monday as the Huskies practice in the late afternoon and then ride the bus to Providence.

I hope Syracuse and Kentucky meet in the final. Want some payback for '96.
