08:05 AM ET 02.28 | Turning into the de facto second half, trade speculation is bound to heat up. [Some] deals may actually be getting close to finalization and the Lakers are in middle of them. They're determined to acquire a point guard sooner than two weeks from now. If it's a multi-player transaction, Pau Gasol will be sacrificed. Should the Magic change their mind about accepting Andrew Bynum for [Dwight Howard] (Pau's inclusion might do it), Jameer Nelson would almost have to be part of the package unless an above-average ball-handler can be obtained elsewhere. That someone could be Ramon Sessions ($4.2 million/$4.5 million). The Lakers are doing some fast talking to the Cavaliers, who are swamped by calls, as are the Kings.

Ramon Sessions > Jameer Nelson

Would Gilbert give up Sessions to the Lakers? If he can get Gasol for Sessions and Jamison than that could work.

Jamison is a "stretch-4". Session is a semi-decent penetrator with limited long-range shot and passing abilities. Both are not elite defenders but they do their assignments decently.
I am not sure such a trade would benefit either of the teams. I think that a trade Jamison + Irving for Gasol and Walton would be a better deal for Lakers.

That truly will not happen! Giving up Irving for Gasol is ridiculous! Cavs get worse and Lakers get really better! Another one sided trade if that happens.

Of course it's rediculous! I was just playing "village fool" =D

Great point guards are hard to get and let's get real Gasol is at the tail end of his career. Such a trade will be worse than the Memphis trade. Everytime I turn around the Lakers are doing this and that trade but nothing ever gets done and they remain stuck like the foot Delonte planted in the arss of Gloria.
