Five QBs fighting to fill Luck's shoes

08:15 AM ET 02.29 | Andrew Luck, who along with Jim Harbaugh helped put Stanford on the map, is for the first time since 2007 not part of the Cardinal program. As the first of 15 spring practices took place Monday at Elliott Field with Luck preparing for the NFL draft, five quarterbacks began the competition to succeed him. "They all did some good things and some not-so-good things," head coach David Shaw said. Brett Nottingham was the No. 2 quarterback last season, but Shaw has pointed out that Josh Nunes might well have assumed that role if it hadn't been for a preseason foot injury. The rest of the field consists of Robbie Picazo, Evan Crower and Kevin Hogan.

How is their OL?

Sounds like a real Cinderella story.

What are they trying to fill them with?

I do not know but I would go with Picazo, he surely can paint a few touchdowns?

they lost a lot this year...not sure what they have in between but they just recruited like 3-4 4/5* OL....

by all accounts the OL should be fine and they look like they will run the ball, ALOT.

Gud AM to you 2 OT...SEC speed...So are you happy or sad that UCLA BBall is about to be going downnnnn.... Someone here want to replace Howland

If you would have replaced Howland with Stansbury and Westwood with Starkvegas, I would have been in amen corner on the story. Howland and Stansbury should switch places :) He won't have many real stars to coddle in Starkpatch.

I'll still switch Ricks with you 'Horn guys.

I have been following UCLA Basketball since 1960. I don't know what is wrong with their program, maybe it is Howland, but it seems strange that after he took them to three straight Final Four's that the school would want to replace him. I know other schools have lost players (one and done), but hell the Bruins lost Love, Westbrook, Holiday, Honeycutt, Farmar, Afflalo and Mbah A Moute all within a 3/4 year span and IMO that was/is the big problem with their program.

Correction, actually some of the players I mentioned were two and done.

Never played basketball, on any level. Am I qualified?

I thought the only requirement for that gig was to fail the wunderlick (?sp) test and be able to ask people if they wanted fries with their shakes in the jock cafeteria?
