08:08 AM ET 03.01 | The Boston Celtics are reportedly trying aggressively to trade Rajon Rondo, who on Wednesday night recorded a triple double and later reacted to the speculation. The Celtics find Rondo's personality to be too high-maintenance and his clashes with coach Doc Rivers remain an off-court distraction, sources told [Chris Broussard], and the front office is now actively pitching him to other teams. With the Celtics realizing they are no longer title contenders, they don't believe his point guard prowess is worth the headaches Rondo brings, sources say. And they do not want to build around him. In December, the Celtics had discussions with Golden State about a Stephen Curry-for-Rondo deal.

Rondo is better than Curry, this is not a good deal for the celtics. Rondo just got a Triple double last night i believe

I'm curious as to who they think they can build around if it's not going to be Rondo.

Keep Rondo and bulldoze the rest of the team.

So who should try to get Rondo? Before I wanted NY to get him, but Lin came out of nowhere.. so now we dont need him. Orlando could use his services...

WHY?

Do the Celts think they are going to get equal value in return?

Sometimes you just have to say enough is enough...if dude is becoming an issue and you can get good pieces for him then you trade him. Now I dont think your going to get value for Rondo but hey. If you can get a 1st rounder and Curry I make that trade in this daft.

I agree. This team as it's constituted may make the playoffs but then it will be one and done anyways.

I hope someone recorded the hissy Rondo must've had when he heard he was being shopped.

Surely it would go down as one of the classic blowups of all time...up there with Herm Edwards, Jim Mora and Denny Green
