Ex-Oriole Scott rips Red Sox fans

08:12 AM ET 03.02 | About five months after Baltimore dramatically ended the Red Sox season, Luke Scott twisted the knife. Being in last place like the Orioles were last year usually makes the final day of the season a "miserable" experience, according to Scott. Winning two out of three against the Red Sox to end the season, however, offered some solace to Baltimore. "It was awesome, just a beautiful thing," Scott said. ... "Just their arrogance," Scott said. "The fans come in and they take over the city. They're ruthless. They're vulgar. They cause trouble. They talk about your family. Swear at you. Who likes that? When people do that, it just gives you more incentive to beat them."

While nobody like obnoxious fans, Scott ought to start by ripping his own fans. If it wasn't for an empty Baltimore stadium, many Bosox fans would never get to see their team. When "Let's go Red Sox!" drowns out "Let's go O's!" at Baltimore stadium, then they have a problem.

Having been abused as a fan at Fenway, but treated with repect in New York as an O's fan, I agree with Scott. Sox fans seem to be the most disrespectful group of people I have ever wittnessed.

Just because fan of the Os don???t want to go to a game at the end of the season when their 20 games under 500 doesn???t give people the right to come in and start trouble and act a fool. I have been to OPACY for NY and BOS games and a lot of the fans are just how Luke described them. I have went to Yankee stadium too wearing Os stuff and yeah people were joking at my expense but I joked back with them and it was all in good fun. Its a game and the fans are simply fans no need to be a D*** people goto the games with their kids and usually those late season games are cheaper (when they are loosing) so its a good opportunity to take your kids. I loved going to Bmore as a kid with my family.

A BoSox visit to Baltimore is like Woodstock for Red Sox nation. Same thing for Yanks fans when they come to town. and it paid Scott's salary these past few years. However, he doesn't have to like being the baseball equivalent of the Washington Generals in his own ballpark. I was in Baltimore for that final series last year and it was a great atmosphere. The crowd was half red and half orange. It was loud and had the feel of a college basketball game. really fun.

Just wearing my O's hat in Fenway causes issues. Hell , I went to a Sox -Cleveland game at Fenway with my O's cap and barely made it out alive.

I know its not just NY and BOS but I dont understand the point of acting like that. We used try and goto a new stadium each year around the noth east and in the 80s and 90s and never had anyone ever start with us. But last year in OPACY Rangers fans were cursing at Pie in LF and some guy was sitting there with 3 kids. Thats just not right there isnt any need to be a Dbag. NY and Boston fans to seem to be the worst though
