07:35 AM ET 03.03 | Any optimism about Carl Crawford potentially being ready for Opening Day was tempered yesterday when the left fielder was unable to take swings because of inflammation in his surgically repaired left wrist. But manager Bobby Valentine said he's "not overly concerned" that the situation will be a significant setback.

Right now Carl just needs ice and tincture of time. He'll be there when his body is ready. The Boston media will just have to wait.

Being ready for opening day was overly optimistic. The original estimates said he would miss the 1st couple of weeks. These guys can't use steroids to heal anymore so they have to use the old stand by time.

I'm not a Burnett fan but I hate to see those kinds of injuries that could have affected him outside of baseball as well.

Lets get ready to play ball.

GREAT signing.

crawford needs time, to heal time to readjusted the OF has to understand that with a fresh surgery on his swinging wrist, aqll what he will provoke its to reinjury his limps, and if you aren't 100% healthy best thing to do its, to avoid any extra injury, just keep yourself away from any type of baseball activities, keep cool and don't try to do too much!!!
