Izzo mourns Big Ten title

08:24 AM ET 03.05 | Sunday provided a somewhat odd scene in East Lansing, where a Big Ten banner went up as Tom Izzo bowed his head. "If championships are something to mourn a little bit, it shows you we're all pointing in the right direction," Izzo said on the court to the crowd. "Get ready for the Big Ten tournament. We're going to go win our championship back." There was slight defiance born of abject disappointment, despite Michigan State's third conference crown in four years. This was a tough one for Izzo and the Spartans, with so many former players in town, with an outright championship at stake. Their defense was ferocious at times but couldn't contain [William Buford's], who finished with 25 points.

His comments reek of an arrogance that is seldom seen from Big12Ten Coaches; his team just won the Conference Title, no small feat, and he is in 'mourning'??? - way to stay classy Coach Izzo( Jud Heathcoate never talked !@#$ like that). Here's to the Iowa Hawkeyes winning their first round game in the Big12Ten Tourney, next up would be Sparty, and he is due for an **** whoppin'.

Thanks and warmest regards, O-6. I didn't think the Bucks had it in 'em. Izzo may be talking sour grapes, but Sparty had its down moments this season as well. The B1G hasn't seen any one team that's head and shoulders above the rest in the conference this year. It'll be interesting to see how the B1G tournament plays out in preparation for the Big Dance.

GO BUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From a Wolverine I wanted to thank Ohio for having a small hand in MICHIGAN winning a Big Ten Championship. Izzo should understand we also have a coach who can win games. Quit crying Izzo.
