08:26 AM ET 03.05 | Statistically speaking, Bo Pelini's Nebraska defense, at season's end, wasn't all that bad, but it also allowed more than its share of 400-yard games against. "Not up to our standard," NU linebacker Will Compton said. ... Said Pelini: "When I watch the cut-ups and film from last season, obviously there's always times when you've got to give the offense the credit. Good one for them. But there were too many times when you looked at it and said, 'That shouldn't have happened.'" [Compton, Pelini and John Papuchis] said Nebraska has identified what went wrong last year. And all three said the Huskers are in the process of fixing it -- even heading into spring football, which starts next weekend.

Was it that his defense wasn't up to usual standards, or was it the fact they were in a different conference (meaning either a different level of offense to defend against, or a totally different style of play that his defensive coaches weren't used to) that caused this?

Think he covered that part....should be able to account for new defensive schemes game to game...IMO

I think this may have been a major change for them instead of lining up against the spread each and every week!

Someone might want to remind Coach Bo 'Peep' Pelini, that he ain't in the Big2(UT and OU) and Small 10(everyone else) - the man is in the BIG leagues now!!! BIG12TEN that is ;)

All I can see here is the old Tom and Jerry skit with the gun. Tom loading it and Jerry pulling the trigger. I got it put the bullet in first and then the powder. No no wait the powder first then the bullet. That's some funny sheet right there.

THAT's the problem...those BigXII* boys are just too fast and over-running the plays. Gotta slow down a bit...

Damn right. Like those powerhouse teams from Minne, IU, Purdue, etal.

BTW, they'd have finished about the same place in the Big 12 as they did in the B1G last year IMHO. No better, no worse.
