Nebraska insists fix is in for defense

08:26 AM ET 03.05 | Statistically speaking, Bo Pelini's Nebraska defense, at season's end, wasn't all that bad, but it also allowed more than its share of 400-yard games against. "Not up to our standard," NU linebacker Will Compton said. ... Said Pelini: "When I watch the cut-ups and film from last season, obviously there's always times when you've got to give the offense the credit. Good one for them. But there were too many times when you looked at it and said, 'That shouldn't have happened.'" [Compton, Pelini and John Papuchis] said Nebraska has identified what went wrong last year. And all three said the Huskers are in the process of fixing it -- even heading into spring football, which starts next weekend.

Was it that his defense wasn't up to usual standards, or was it the fact they were in a different conference (meaning either a different level of offense to defend against, or a totally different style of play that his defensive coaches weren't used to) that caused this?

BTW, they'd have finished about the same place in the Big 12 as they did in the B1G last year IMHO. No better, no worse.
