Celtics shopping for a lottery ticket?

08:15 AM ET 03.06 | Just how much transition is Boston willing to invite? [Danny Ainge] would be out of his mind not to see what every player in his employ would fetch. It's also fair to assume he's been doing that all along -- and according to multiple league sources, there just hasn't been much call for the Big Three. ... [By making sure Ray Allen's] deal expired with Kevin Garnett's and not signing Glen Davis to a multiyear deal and avoiding players who might make them marginally better but handcuff them in the longer run, the Celts have given themselves a fairly clean slate. It was a timed implosion. The belief here, too, is that the Celtics wouldn't mind getting worse to get better ... you know, buy a lottery ticket.

They haven't done that since the days of M.L. Carr as head coach.

Rondo for Pau Gasol. The Lakers will get their Pg and Boston will get the best 4 man w/ finesse in the league. Its a win win. Boston can build around Pau. Boston and LA may have to throw in some pieces to make the salary work out but that is the best Boston is going to get if they are trying to move him this season. If not they need to stay "pat"
