Giants hold the cards in A's San Jose dreams

08:17 AM ET 03.06 | There is still plenty of work to be done if the A's are ever to find their way to San Jose. [So] much work that it's quite possible that it never happens, after all this time. Tons of work. Massive amounts of negotiations -- have they even started the true negotiations yet? Major hurdles to leap. Not much else is clear. Possibly nothing else is clear, as the A's and Giants continue their territorial stare-down over the A's dream of moving to San Jose. If the commissioner's office had an easy answer for this, Bud Selig would've come up with it years ago. ... The A's could still get to San Jose and probably should get to San Jose, but that's not what this is about. It's about deal position, and right now, the Giants have it.

I don't think the A's have a Plan B if San Jose doesn't work out.

Just call it a day I'd imagine.

It's time for the A's management to wake up and smell the latte. Plan B: San Antonio. Plan C: Las Vegas. San Jose ain't gonna happen, just as Oakland (unfortunately) ain't happenin'. Baseball's so-called commissioner "Bud" needs to bestir himself and help (somehow).

QUOTE(#7):

Maybe they should go back to Philly............

They probably could support 2 teams but I don't think money ball would fly there because the Philly fans would pretty much demand a real team that gives a crap.

Where were those fans over the majority of the last three decades?

QUOTE(#14):

Right? It's hilarious how after a couple years success people suddenly think their city is a baseball "hotbed", totally neglecting years of, well, neglect by its fans.

Now that you mention it, Toronto is kind of in the same boat.

If we have to wait for Bud Lite Selig to do anything outside of Milwaukee, or New York, we will wait a life time.

.... sometimes in life people enjoy being the victim and make choices to perpetuate that status....less blame and pressure that way when you fall short....many choices for the athletics if only they can stop with the pity party and get on with it....mlb should take over this franchise......and send brad pitt packing....

There is no where for baseball to expand. They are already over-expanded. Look at the attendance figures in several cities. And the low end payrolls for those teams to break even.
