08:44 AM ET 03.06 | Veteran Pacers center Jeff Foster's season just got worse. Foster, who was with the team in New Orleans on Saturday, returned to Indianapolis on Sunday and had a procedure done on his back Monday. [Frank Vogel] said the procedure will keep Foster out of the lineup for at least a week. Foster, who was moving gingerly in New Orleans, re-injured his back during practice last week. ... Lou Amundson will continue to be Roy Hibbert's backup at center, but the team's front office is looking at acquiring another big man considering they have $14.5 million in salary cap space and only 13 players under contract. New Orleans center Chris Kaman is on the Pacers' radar.

he certainly would help almost any team-
but NO will want something back...and they view kaman as a starting center, not a back-up. I could see him in GS- but they won't part with any players

Indiana could take Karman salary on ... Note Under the CAP ...

and would Indiana go all IN and give up a First round Pick ~ which would be 23rd as of Today

I don??t get why teams aren??t more willing to give up late 1st rounders in the NBA. They don??t have the value of NFL 1st rounders. Outside the top 20, you find very few starters and even fewer stars. Indiana has a chance to add another big man (which is exactly what they will need in the playoffs) in a season where ANYTHING can happen. A late pick is a small price to pay for a quality big man.
