08:12 AM ET 03.07 | So much for that easy transition back to the court for Carmelo Anthony. [Anthony's Tuesday] post-game behavior was as puzzling as his recent oncourt play. Anthony scored 6 points in a 2-of-12 disaster and sat and watched the second unit nearly steal a win over the defending champion Mavericks. As a capper, Anthony bolted the locker room early, heading for the bus, saying to a reporter, "Not tonight." Fifteen minutes later, Melo returned to the locker-room area to speak to a small group of writers and admitted adjusting to the new alignment has him confused on the court. The Knicks fell to the Mavs, 95-85, [Tuesday] night to go 2-4 since Melo returned to a new structure created by Jeremy Lin.

Anthony for Howard ?

Carmelo has always been an overrated bum...no heart. A team with him as a top option will never win a championship in the NBA

In the abundance of the water the fool is thirsty... what an irony for the best scorer to struggle in the best scoring system. This guy is overrated... he's like the many New Yorker's that can't make it in New York... let's trade him Monta Ellis and David Lee. If Jersey wants him for D-Will or if Orlando wants him for Dwight let it be.

All Lin fans knew as soon as this guy comes back the chemistry, huste and spirit of the team will go away and here we have it. He's stopped working hard and living on past glory. This is NY - we don't have time to waste... let's cut the chase and ship him out... now!

Well its too bad.figure it out cause the melo offense from last season and early this season sucks

This current Knicks squad is one of the best teams assembled in basketball history. We should win a championship easily with it... If we don't it'll be like meeting Gloria and not getting laid. It's too late for his arrogance to learn team ball and sacrifice... even if we trade him for draft picks it's better than having him. He's a chemistry killer... get lost Melo!

Give Mello some time to adjust. His role is changing and he will figure it out.

As much as I really can't see how you justify the "one of the best teams assembled in basketball history" statement, I have to agree with you here. I really like Melo and think he's a talented due, but he's clearly a guy that has to be in the right system. I think for the sake of the Knicks (and for Melo's confidence/sanity), they should be looking for trade partners. They can get more pieces that would utilize the strengths of their new team. I love Melo, but he's looking more and more like Glen Robinson every day.

Did anyone else notice last night when the second unit was mounting a comeback (4th quarter)that all of the starters on the bench were cheering except for Melo! He was more concerned with getting back in the game as opposed to the team winning!!! I didn't want to believe it, but I think Melo is more concerned with his stats and minutes than winning. Then D'Antoni had the nerve to put Lin and Melo in for Harrelson and Baron Davis who spearheaded the comeback; naturally the Knicks lost their lead and quickly found themselves down by double digits! D'Antoni needs to go, Shumpert needs to start and Melo... I don't know, step your game up.
