08:20 AM ET 03.07 | Winning a Michigan state title was great, but it didn't compare to Tuesday. Twenty minutes from a trip to the NCAA tournament as the Horizon League champion, and you could see sophomore guard Ray McCallum wanted it. It was why he turned down offers from all over the country to play for his dad at Detroit Mercy and put the Titans back on the basketball map. He accomplished his mission Tuesday night against host and top-seeded Valparaiso in front of a standing room only crowd at the Athletics Recreation Center while a national TV audience looked on. ... "I've been playing basketball since I was 4 years old, and this is the greatest feeling in the world," said McCallum.

It was on ESPN and I did see it! Perhaps UDM will recapture the same kind of glory they had under Coach Dick Vitale.
