Howard staying put, thanks to owner?

08:18 AM ET 03.08 | Otis Smith, staring down the deadline to move Dwight Howard, may just run out of time on purpose. I'm sure some of the "Magic resolve" chatter that's been gaining traction in recent days about how increasingly determined they are to keep him beyond the deadline is at least partly designed as a means of trying to improve the offers that come in before the deadline. Yet it seems evident that the stronger belief in the Magic Kingdom is that it's better to keep Dwight and face the worst-case-scenario consequences of losing him for nothing if there's so much as a 10 percent chance of him changing his mind. The vibe coming from the Magic is that owner Rich DeVos prefers that scenario, frightening as it is.

Now trade for Nash and get better role players, then you can contend this year

Good. Freedom of choice this summer for young Dwight.

Choose wisely, young man.

What reason(s) does D12 have for staying with the Magic? They haven't acquired any assets to surround Dwight. SMH. Otis is a dummy if he thinks he's going to re-sign @ season's end.

Take the risk. So what, you re-enter the lotto and win big again, maybe the next time there's a very low key person that like the warm, sunny climate along with the extremely attractive women and prefer to stay instead of pouting and screaming about "better talent" when you're suppose to be superman.

I hope he does it. It's time for one of the owners to put a star player up against the new CBA and see if he blinks.

Go Anywhere But LA, Bro.

Where does this "10%" chance number come from anyways? Is it based on any real probability?

He has roll players J Rich, R. Anderson, JJ

Pretty much...unless they pull a rabbit out of their hat (ie. Boston getting Ray & KG in the same summer)

he needs another star next to him like a kobe, dirk, deron, even melo...He can not carry a team set up like the magic. They have too many roll players and not enough starr power. imo

This attitude displayed by the owner, OBTW the same one in the Shaq debacle, is exactly why the Magic and it fan base does not deserve a team and in fact deserve to lose Howard when he walks this summer. The people are 100% morons to let this trade deadline past without a trade.

D12? Really?

Is that what nicknames have come to, putting an initial or two in front of the players jersey number? Utter laziness!

He's already got one crappy nickname- Superman, now you slap the D12 on him?

How about using a little imagination? Dwhow (pronounced D-WOW), The Big D, Double Sleeve, Little Head- any of those are better than D12.
