Their meeting on Thursday night at Verizon Center with Tampa Bay has suddenly become vital. After that, the Caps play six of their next seven games on the road, where they've been horrid. In two weeks, if they don't shape up in a hurry, they could be D.O.A.

Now that folks have finally been given some info. on this disaster after the sports media has tried to hide it all year, it's time to face facts. Even if by some miracle the Caps did limp into the playoffs this year their "run" would last no more than 4 games. It's time to break up this group of underachievers by trading Semin AND Ovie while you can still get something for them. Drop Vokoun, bring up Holtby, pray for Backstrom. Tee-off and aim foir next year.
