08:36 AM ET 03.08 | Thanks to Ken Hitchcock, the Blues have been singing pretty. [Hitchcock] should walk away with the NHL's coach of the Year Award. Is there any doubt? I realize that we frequently see bizarre voting and politics in awards voting, so you never know what will happen. But on the merits -- and again, unless there is a Blues free-fall from here on out -- how could the Jack Adams Trophy go to another coach? Let's take a look at a partial accounting of Hitchcock's success with the Blues: * Before the season, the Blues were largely considered a borderline playoff team by the hockey pundits. ... * The Blues had lost three of four and were 6-7 at the time Hitchcock took over for Davis Payne. * Under Hitchcock the Blues are 36-11-7.

With all due respect to John Tortella and a couple of others, I don't see how the Adams couldn't go to Hitchcock. I understand that I am biased, but the turnaround has been startling.

I would think Hitch would be the favourite. Interesting that Mike Babcock has never won one. My guess is, it's between these two guys. Both are deserving, all they've ever done was win!

The Blues were goin nowhere. Hitch changed the culture on the fly.
No brainer for me... But I am a Hitch fan also so I might be just a bit biased.

I think they can be. They have a great blend of youth and experience,2 good goalies,a great coach , speed , size, and some home ice advantage

Now that Wilson has gone Hitch is probably a shoo-in! (Yes, that's sarcasm, but Hitch definitely deserves the award).

He damn sure did... and the players on that team always acknowledge his contribution now even though he drove them nuts at the time.
