08:02 AM ET 03.09 | Soon, Peyton Manning will join a long line of iconic athletes landing in new places. [Manning] wouldn't be interested in joining the New York Jets with their current roster and locker-room dysfunction, Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Namath said [Thursday]. "The Jets have to get things together on their own turf before someone with his background would be interested in coming," Namath, 68, who led the Jets to their only Super Bowl title, told Bloomberg News in a telephone interview from his Florida home. Manning, 35, was released yesterday by the Indianapolis Colts after 11 Pro Bowl. ... "We appreciate Joe and he is entitled to share his opinions," Bruce Speight, the Jets' spokesman, said in an e-mail.

Meanwhile Sanchez is holding his breath and pouting whilst stomping his foot.

Joe doesn't care about Manning in green. He's got all those pretty pink elephants to look at.

March 9, 2012  08:52 AM ET

At this point in his career he'd rather avoid a circus atmosphere.

Yeah, but Kate Upton is consoling him. Did I mention I really, really, really hate Sanchez?

If what you're saying is true then I add a +1 to your sad news.

If Peyton wants to go to a team that needs him and has a very good shot at the super bowl, he should have his agent call the Ravens. He can help all these other teams a lot, but they can't really help him.

Too bad we can't order "THE JETS SUCK!!! in green on T&R.

March 9, 2012  09:04 AM ET

The Jets already tried the "win now" route with Brett Favre, and you see how THAT panned out.....

March 9, 2012  09:12 AM ET

First of all The Jets don't appreciate the only good thing that ever happened to them "Joe Willie Nameth", they have the same issue the Mets have, they don't take care or appreciate their own Champions!! They will go on losing until like the Mets, management changes hands what A Hole, Bruce Spreight is! Look whey Darrel Revis has to look forward too!!!

This is proof that you just do not need that many brain cells to figure this one out.

March 9, 2012  09:56 AM ET

Manning is going to Miami. He lives there and there is not place better for him and he knows it. That's why his team said a deal would be done next week. He aint courting all those other Manning wannabee's. He is more than likely in money negotiations now and will toss some footballs around and sign the deal end of next week.
