08:11 AM ET 03.09 | Nolan Ryan and Robin Ventura have managed to stay out of each other's way since an incident that took place nearly 20 years ago. Ventura charged the mound. Nolan stepped off the mound to meet the charge. Ventura's head immediately became trapped in Ryan's left arm, and the fists began to fly from Nolan's right hand. ... As a history of Rangers highlights comes up on the [Rangers ballpark's video] screen, nothing draws cheers like Nolan and Robin. "Out of respect for Ventura, with him being in the other dugout, we don't need to be showing it," Ryan said. But after more discussion, it has now been decided that the fight scene will never be shown again at the ballpark.

Round 2 would probably go to Young Robin.

March 9, 2012  02:10 PM ET

But Nolan did say, "we will continue to play it nightly at the Ryan house."

Not unlike Kid Rick Porcello's beatdown of Kevin Youkilis.

I always thought Robert Parrish coldcocking Bill Lambeer was the best. Lambeer was never quite the same thug after that beat down.
