Has Kansas State found its ceiling?

09:07 AM ET 03.09 | Not many teams would have topped Baylor Thursday, but the Kansas State loss did lead to questions about the program. Kansas State basketball was mostly garbage before [Frank Martin] arrived in Manhattan, a full decade without even making the NCAA Tournament, and look at it now: March mainstay, consistent 20-win seasons, comfortably living in the top half of the Big 12. That should be said first, the compliments right at the top, because the rest of this column is about Martin and K-State bumping against their ceiling. ... The problem is the distinct possibility that Martin's program will never be as good as it's been. The problem is that this is on the minds of many K-State fans.

QUOTE(#2):

Actually, K-state fans should be content with their athletic programs' accomplishments. Despite being a relatively small school (23,863 in Fall '11) in a tough Big 12 conference, with a dual identity crisis of locale (Manhatten? Really?) and mascot (Wildcats...yawn), they have overachieved.

No luv for the Little Apple?

Hiya, Guido. I used to hang out in Manhatten while I was stationed at Ft. Riley some 3 1/2 decades ago. The co-eds always gave me the cold shoulder 'cause of my High and Tight. ;)

Those Kansas girls are just no fun. Only been once for a dreadful UTx loss. I don't recall thinking it was a place i wanted to hang, but I was prob in a pizzy mood

True that. Not everyday that your instate rival can claim that your own basketball court is considered Allen Fieldhouse West.
