Browns could set sights on Flynn

08:02 AM ET 03.12 | The Browns, suddenly out of the Robert Griffin III sweepstakes, have some options -- stick with Colt McCoy, draft a quarterback or seek a veteran. The Browns could pursue Green Bay Packers backup Matt Flynn. ... Other than Peyton Manning -- whom [Tom Heckert] said the Browns won't pursue -- Flynn is considered the top free-agent quarterback, even though he has only two NFL starts on his resume because he has been stuck behind Aaron Rodgers on the depth chart. Flynn's knowledge of the West Cost offense certainly could be appealing to the Browns. However, Heckert said it's doubtful the Browns would sign a big-name quarterback in free agency, and Flynn is expected to command a substantial salary.

Just think. If Peyton Manning signs with Arizona, we'll be back to Kevin Kolb threads every day, just like last year.

That'll teach us.

If Manning is getting 3 plays a day, then the ratio is about right.

Colt just needs a team around him; an offensive line and some receivers who can catch the ball.

I said it yesterday and I'll say it again today, Amature Night in Cleveland when your GM thinks Matt Flynn is a big name, Green Bay hyped this guy up and then couldn't trade him, think about it? I really feel for the Browns Fan base!

Given all that , he could make them an 8-8 team with a little good fortune and a career year.

I'm gonna laugh if Flynn turns out to be better than Luck or RG3. (No, I don't think that will happen, but you never know.)

Yeah, but Flynn's already shown he can do what we DON'T KNOW either Luck of RG can do... actually play at a pro level ( and pretty well, if you consider his stats for the 2 games he played ).....

LOL! NOT that I wish the Browns any particular good fortune.... just sayin

Holmgren is not a stupid man, he knows Colt McCoy was born to be a back up QB in the NFL.
