08:04 AM ET 03.12 | Just how much is Vincent Jackson worth on the open market? Now he is bound for free agency, and it seems the Chargers might be both unwilling and unable to make a winning bid. It is believed the Washington Redskins and Chicago Bears will be the most aggressive of Jackson's suitors. The Chargers' seeming resignation that Jackson will go somewhere else could be due in part to their having long been aware of a team -- thought to be the Redskins -- that will do almost whatever it takes to get Jackson. We won't know for sure until Tuesday afternoon. ... [A] person closely monitoring the situation said earlier this week: "He's going to get more than you or I could ever imagine he would."

Here they go again. Over pay for a FA. It's what they do, and fail at. With a rookie qb? Can't make this up

Never know...look at Cam Newton...

Got to let the rookie grow, an aging WR doesn't have time for the unknown

No doubt, but they could have a connection if the rookie QB is on...would like a younger receiver, though...

Wow, you make it sound like V-Jax is stepping out into the Twilight Zone.

Oh, right, we're talking the Redskins, aren't we? Make that the X-Files.

Yes... and he has Steve Smith, Chief.

VJax is no Steve Smith. That said - you guys do need some help at WR.

And... I am happy for you. You're getting a class kid with the skills to be great. Gonna hate seeing Griff twice a year against the Cowboys.

Agreed on that, O...he is not a S. Smith...I am only hoping for that kid to have a stellar season and bring back the competition of the NFC East from back in the day!!

The Skins will probably will overpay for Jackson, hope it works out better than Fat Albert.

The approach is sound: pair a rookie QB with a veteran receiver. The only question is whether V-Jax is the right receiver. There are many to choose from this year in FA.

Here we go!!!

Of course... easy to do with Griff.

You've always been high on him... I didn't know a thing about him, until you schooled us on him. People are signing up for season tickets left and right... My better half is even about to make an executive decision on our behalf.

I'd love to see the Skins keep the Giants out of the playoffs.

Yup, definitely love that possibility.

You could spend $10 million for 380 pounds of rancid burger meat and it would still work out better than Fat Albert.

Snyder offered two first rounders for Jackson. Didn't have to, just wanted to.

We got 1 already. Hankerson was coming along nicely b4 he got hurt. V-Jack will take the pressure off of him & allow him to really grow. Cats acting like V-Jack is 34. Dude is in the prime of his careeer. He has at least 5-6 good years left. plenty of time to give RG3 a reliable option that has excellent hands while we develop our young receiving corp. Hankerson, Niles, Aldrick, T Austin, plenty of young talent to groom. and my guess is we get Manningham..not so much talent as to hurt the Giants. great move. I'd rather have Laurent Robinson though..kid was a beast.

& people acting like we still dont have 6 draft picks this year. its amazing...

I would wait to see who my quarterback is going to be, before I start loading up, but hey what do I know?
