Look out, hitters: Cubs are coming inside

08:13 AM ET 03.12 | Matt Garza may be an acquired taste, but it appears he's making a good impression on new manager Dale Sveum. What's coming into view is that Garza seems to be a match with [Sveum], a manager who rides motorcycles and has tattoos, and Chris Bosio, a self-described old-school pitching coach who played for and worked with Lou Piniella. The Cubs are going to throw inside and make the opponent uncomfortable. "That's how I made my living," Garza said. "I don't shy away from the inside part of the plate. Hitters don't like it -- a lot of them will try to take it away. (Chase) Utley's notorious for leaning over. They're going to try to take advantage, so why not get my 17 inches back?"

Too bad they got rid of Zambrano. We could have had brawls as well.

Sounds like the Cubs are pretty hardcore this year.

Penicillin will cure that.

Garza was always a salty character. Cubs could use ... oh, say ... 24 more. His record has shown that he'll plunk you in the ribs if you lean in too far. Good for him.

I ran into Garza at a flea market the morning after he threw his no-hitter a few years back and he still had his game face on. He's pretty intense.

Great news Cubs fans. Of course, it will add up to the 104th year without winning the World Series.

Just another lame **** 'Cubs ain't going to win it this year' joke. Super. Curious to know where all these comedians will hide when the Cubs actually do win the World Series ;)
