Huskies snubbed by NCAA

08:18 AM ET 03.12 | For what it's worth, Washington, the Pac-12 regular season champs, did wind up a No. 1 seed at the NIT. The Huskies went 21-10 on the season overall and 14-4 in the conference, but finished the year poorly with a big loss to UCLA and an even bigger loss to Oregon State in the Pac-12 tournament on Thursday. It was barely more than a week ago that Washington clinched a share of the Pac-12 title and seemed a shoo-in for the NCAA Tournament. ... But the Huskies got snubbed. They won the most Pac-12 games, but the Pac-12 was lousy this season; teams beat each other up, as exemplified by the conference tournament. Washington lost its games against ranked teams, and dropped a doozy to South Dakota State.

So, they need to do away with the conf tourneys.

I think so. Giving the AQ bid to the conference champ is what devalues the regular season (especially conference season) more than 60+ tourney teams IMHO.

Odd that there seems to be limited complaints about east coast bias in basketball, but plenty of complaints in football.

Seems like the bias is everywhere in hoops...they also let BYU and UTx in but left out some more deserving teams out IMHO.

It is not a bias, that conference stunk this year, but the Regular Season Champ should get the bid, not the tourney champ!

UTK got a #1 tourney seed as well...in the NIT.

Misery loves company. My Movin' Mavs (UT/Arlington) got gooched as well. Regular season Southland Conference champs, only to lose in the conference tourny and get snubbed for the Big Dance. They're playing instead in the NIT at Washington 3/13.

Perfect example of devaluing the regular conference season.

The Huskies sucked. Of course, they were omitted. I agree though that Colorado should not have gotten the bid. Plan for future: abolish the dumb-**** tournament and give the bid automatically to the league champ.

Let's face it, Washington and the 12 PAC basketball just wasn't all that good this year!!!!

Not sure there are many really good basketball teams this year....all have their flaws. 3 of the 4 #1 seeds lost this weekend. Ought to be an interesting tourney as I think the chalk will take some hits.

CBB needs a 3-yr min or straight to the NBA like baseball and football have. Until that happens and players stay long enough to play as a team, CBB will be a shell of what it once was
