Vikings poised to purge their free agents

08:02 AM ET 03.13 | Minnesota remains a team in transition. The Vikings enter [Tuesday's] free agency period with most of their in-house free agents poised to hit the open market. Quarterback Sage Rosenfels on Monday agreed to a two-year deal with the Vikings, adding depth and mentorship behind Christian Ponder and Joe Webb. And the team would like to re-sign restricted free-agent linebacker Kenny Onatolu to a contract instead of a restricted tender, according to a person with direct knowledge of the situation. But with plans to inject youth into the locker room, the Vikings appear more interested in subtracting their own players than keeping them.

Maybe they should do this...
Entire Arena Football team cut during pregame meal at Olive Garden
The owner of the Pittsburgh Power fired all 24 members of his team during a pregame meal at an Orlando-area Olive Garden.
With AFL players set to strike before the 2012 season opener, owner Matt Shaner reacted first, cutting his entire team hours before kickoff of a game against the Orlando Predators.

Did he at least pick up the check?
I can imagine the owner of the restaurant. First, he gets stiffed by a couple of dozen football player appetites, and then he finds out that everybody on his staff that weighs more than 150 pounds has taken the rest of the night off to go play in the Arena Football League.
Love their chicken gnocci soup.

Wow, no Randy Moss thread this morning?
I thought a one-year deal with the 49ers would have gotten the attention of the interns. They seem to like potential trainwrecks like that.

Good Morning Boys!!! I'm going to make you feel better!!! Harbaugh should stick to coaching, he doesnt need a guy to destroy the chemistry of the team and give up on long routes, he could not have chosen a worse character, well maybe Plax! Now Coach Harbaugh will be relegated to becoming Head Physcoligist !

I don't think it has anything to do with Moss' mind...
I just think he's had it.

If he does manage to make it past camp, I'd love to know how much of his deal is incentive-based. If a team can't keep him focused in some way, he'll check out mentally in a heartbeat.

I second the motion on the Zuppa Toscana. I make it at home, lovely. As for Moss, well, he now has a new team to poison.
